To keep the sledge with the harnessed dog sled drawn into it in one place (forced stop, long parking), the musher uses an anchor placed in the mount and fixed to the sledge with a cable. The principle of operation of a musher with an anchor is clearly demonstrated in the video below.
One of the useful qualities of an anchor is its ability to turn around in the snow after dogs and a sledge, while continuing to hold the team in the opposite direction. There is this moment on the video. This episode is essentially a defect, it will not go into the presentation video about the "220" model, but I did not send it to the basket, there is the work of the anchor on it, as it goes, is "written in the snow".
For sleds designed for 2-6 dogs, a lightweight anchor is offered.
Now I have the vast majority of orders for sleds equipped with my anchors... The universal mount, which fits the anchor-a copy of Danler, is no longer relevant... To be honest, I'm already tired of moving them from the sleds that were collected before the start of the season, for the spring and summer... In this regard, since this season, by default, I put the mount under my anchors, with a polycarbonate latch... It is suitable for both types of my anchors, standard and lightweight, but the anchor analog Danler is not fixed in it. Please pay attention to this when ordering, and if you plan to use your anchors, be sure to tell me about it, then we will supply you with a universal mount.
